LONDON – 9th January 2017 – ComRes today announces the appointment of Simon Carter to the position of Chief Executive Officer, as the company prepares itself for what will be an unprecedented year for many of its clients.
Andrew Hawkins, Chairman and founder, commented “during uncertain times, organisations need support and the best informed advice to help make difficult decisions. ComRes has been doing this for more than a decade, and in recognition of the unique circumstances that we are all faced with, we are making changes to better meet the needs of our clients – starting with a very senior hire to work with me in leading our business day to day.”
Carter joins with immediate effect from the IT company Fujitsu, where he was VP & Head of Marketing for their business across Europe, Middle East, India and Africa. Prior to that he held Board level and senior management positions at Thomas Cook, the Post Office, EdF Energy, Virgin and NatWest Bank. He has also been a Non Exec Director of ComRes for the last 12 months, giving him a thorough understanding of the business.
This announcement preludes the launch of two new business practices later this month – a Faith Research Consultancy and Internal Communications Practice – details of both to follow shortly.
Commenting on his appointment, Carter said “I have built my career by using market research and insight to help the companies I have worked for make better decisions – launching new products, enter new markets, and deal with varying degrees of uncertainty in their core business. We are entering unprecedented times for just about every organisation in this country – from BREXIT to technology change, from evolving regulatory pressure to an absence of barriers of entries for new competitors. ComRes are best placed to help organisations make sense of this confusion, and help them make informed decisions during such uncertainty, and I am excited by the opportunity to use my experience as a customer, to work with this established team of professionals, in providing better insight to those businesses grappling with these challenges. I cannot think of a more exciting opportunity right now.”
