- Nine in ten of those surveyed agree hospices are an important asset to their community (92%) and eight in ten agree that they are the best way to help people die peacefully and with dignity (82%)
- However, a third of those surveyed think hospice care is only available in a hospice building (31%) and under half correctly identify that hospice care is available in community settings such as at home or in a care home (45%)
- More than a third of those surveyed say they would be willing to volunteer for a hospice (37%), with a fifth saying they would be very willing (18%). Two thirds say they would be willing to donate money to support hospice care (65%)
