London First / London poll on congestion
Survey of Londoners on their perceptions of congestion on London roads.
  • Londoners are divided on whether they would like to see a higher congestion charge for using certain roads by car at peak times and a lower charge for driving at off-peak times introduced in order to reduce congestion, with similar proportions of Londoners saying they would support (37%) or oppose (35%) it.
  • Almost two thirds of Londoners (63%) think that congestion on London’s roads has increased over the past two years.
  • Three quarters (75%) say that they expect congestion on London’s roads will have increased by 2020.

ComRes interviewed 1,016 London adults between 8th January and 13th January 2016. Data were weighted by age, gender, region and ethnicity to be representative of the London public. ComRes is a member of the British Polling Council and abides by its rules.
